Acceptance of Necessity (AoN) is kept distinct from a signed contract — an AoN is a demand approval, not an order.

  • Counter Uas S06S07
Layered low-cost detection, RF sensing, EO/IR, command-and-control and effectors are expanding as a recurring procurement need.
  • Armour S06
Active protection systems for tanks have entered a formal Army acquisition signal, creating a domestic subsystem opportunity.
  • Ammunition S05S07S08
Positive indigenisation and Army procurement create recurring localisation opportunities in ammunition, components and spares.
One graph, not three directories. Every system, company and programme is a node in a single relationship-driven database — a supplier that serves the Army, Navy and Air Force appears once and is reached from each. Facts carry their primary source; draft policy (e.g. DAP 2026) is labelled as draft, not law. Methodology

Army Atlas — value chain, scored

0 import-dependent to 5 sovereign. Aug 2026 research pack; each layer traces to a sourced record.

Armour / light tanks2 · Emergingmaps to Manufacturing & Integration

Zorawar light tank (DRDO–L&T) in design refinement; induction targeted 2028–29 after armour-weight trade-offs. Arjun/T-series production and upgrades remain mixed indigenous/import.

Artillery & rocket systems3 · Partialmaps to Manufacturing & Integration

Pinaka family (Mk1, Enhanced, Guided, long-range path) is indigenous and in production/export; ATAGS and other tube artillery programmes progressive.

Army air defence missiles3 · Partialmaps to Manufacturing & Integration

Akash operational; Akash-NG user trials complete (Dec 2025); QRSAM AoN done, CCS clearance awaited for large production cycle.

Seekers / guidance / fire control2 · Emergingmaps to Components & Inputs

Domestic seeker and guidance packages growing (BDL/BEL/Apollo and peers); high-end RF seekers still partial import.

Land vehicle / missile propulsion1 · Nascentmaps to Equipment & Capital Goods

Powerpacks for armoured vehicles and some rocket motors remain dependency-sensitive; solid motors for Pinaka/Akash family more mature domestically.

C4ISR / EW for land force2 · Emergingmaps to Services & IP

BEL-led electronics dense; advanced EW and sensor fusion still mixed with foreign modules.

What changed
  • 2026-09-07DAC AoN: six Army proposals in ₹1.10 lakh crore packagearmy

AoN (in-principle administrative approval — not a contract) for CBRN Recce Vehicles, High Mobility Vehicles, Self-Propelled Mechanical Mine Layers, Advanced Light Helicopters, Trawl Tanks and the Sarvatra Bridge System. Part of the 7 September 2026 DAC package (~₹1,10,000 crore across Army, Navy and IAF); approximately 98% of total procurements to come from Indian industry (aggregate statement). No vendors, quantities or timelines announced.

  • 2026-06Zorawar induction revised to 2028–29army

Army Chief stated induction likely 2028–29 after design refinement (including armour protection vs 25 t limit). Requirement ~354 tanks; L&T first 59.

  • 2026QRSAM production order patharmy

BEL reports QRSAM-side activities largely complete; CCS clearance awaited for production (industry commentary on ~1,000-missile class order to BDL).

  • 2025-12 / 2026Pinaka long-range guided rockets AoNarmy

DAC accorded AoN for long-range guided Pinaka ammunition (~120 km class discussed); Guided Pinaka validation complete; export batches flagged from Solar facility.

  • 2025-12Akash-NG user evaluation trials completearmy

DRDO completed user evaluation trials of Akash-NG; system closer to induction; large production order under consideration.
